Counseling

Working with a counselor is a gift you give yourself — time and space to explore your inner life. At its foundation, the counseling relationship is one of listening, witnessing and accompanying, sometimes guiding, as you find your path forward.

I work with adults in a warm, direct, engaged, and collaborative style. My approach is to identify and build on your strengths, always mindful of how our struggles are shaped by things outside ourselves: our families, communities, cultures, and even our current political situation. Our sessions will help you know yourself more deeply, strengthen parts of yourself that need care, release beliefs you’ve carried and no longer need, and make pragmatic plans for the future you desire.

I have over 30 years of counseling experience, in agencies, clinics, and private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My areas of specialty include:

  • Depression and Anxiety
  • Relationship and family issues
  • Trauma, including sexual assault
  • Grief
  • Pregnancy, adoption, abortion, infertility
  • Body positivity/health at any size
  • Aging parents
  • Managing stress and building resilience
  • LGBTQIA+ concerns

It’s important that your therapist be a good fit with your current needs and personal style. I offer a free initial consultation to make sure you and I both feel that my practice is the right place for you at this time.

Sessions are available both online and in person.

$125/hour payable by Venmo, check, or cash.

I choose to remain out of network on insurance plans, so that we have the freedom to work a pace that feels comfortable to you, for as long as we see fit, rather than tailoring treatment to what insurance will allow. I am happy to provide you with paperwork needed for you to file a claim for reimbursement. I am able to adjust my fee in cases of financial hardship, so please let me know if this is a concern for you.
